My name is Nicole, and I am an incoming sophomore studying chemical engineering and environmental science. I am involved in LSU’s Student Government Senate as well as multiple on-campus organizations. Some examples include Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honors society, and Climate Pelicans, a climate change advocacy organization. I believe advocacy for climate change is crucial as there are so many misrepresented voices and stories in this movement. These voices need to be amplified especially from communities that have already experienced the direct effects of climate change. I have been studying climate change and a multitude of environmental issues for years, and I have noticed these problems will only worsen unless there is immediate action. I hope to explore the many facets of climate change and help bring awareness and mobilize individuals through this accessible platform.
